Used by over 25 million people it's known as one of the best To Do List's out there, it allows you to organize, plan, and collaborate on projects and tasks.
Firstly we need to look at what Todoist actually is, and the answer to that is a project management software that helps you manage your tasks and projects. As you may have realised from the name it's a play on the term 'To Do List' and you'll find that it does a great job of being a great solution for businesses (or individuals) to manage projects and tasks in a better and more efficient way. As one of the most established and first companies to specialize in project management (they started in 2007) they have a customer base of millions of people and businesses who use their software daily.
All of the features that are included in Todoist are all there to try and make your life as easy as possible, improving your workflow, making the art of completing tasks and projects easier and more enjoyable.
A fun fact is that over 200 million projects have been completed over the years with nearly 2 billion tasks put onto the platform, now that should answer some questions over whether it's a good tool or not. These kind of figures as I'm sure you'll understand are hard to come by unless you offer a tool that is brilliant at what it's designed to do.
As you can imagine the main features of this software is the ability to make projects and tasks, manage and work on them and then tick them off and this of course does a great job of doing it. As you'd expect adding a task is done in seconds, you can then add sub tasks to this which is great for when tasks aren't as simple and you can even create sections within tasks and link them together.
Additionally there are countless features which tie into this main job but some of the features we love are below.
Email integration - If you have your emails in Gmail then the integration that you can do is fantastic, meaning you can turn an email into a task in a matter of seconds. So when you get an email that has something you need to action you can simply do it right there and then and a new task is created for you to complete. A great feature for those times when you open an email and know you need to do a task based on it but can't do it now, great for those who check their emails on the go too (theres apps for both IOS and Android)
Browser exension - You can have a simple extension for your website which allows you to create tasks/to do lists from websites, so if you're browsing a website and think 'I need to read this later' you can simply create a task within your browser to do this. Although this may sound like a feature you may not use, you'll be surprised how often you'll end up using it, from taking note of something a competitor does and flagging it up as a task for your team to produce something similar to researching and keeping track of market news.
Customization - Within the app you can customise tasks and workflows with the use of things such as making them bold, adding hyperlinks and even using Emojis, meaning you can start having a visually pleasing project management screen in front of you.
Calendar - If you've got a task which needs to be set as a recurring task then you can easily set that up using the internal Todoist calendar feature, you can set alerts, due dates, how often something is to be repeated and much more, giving you the ability to set up weekly, daily, monthly or even tasks that happen every set day per month
Voice Commands - If you're someone who uses voice commands on a daily basis then you'll love that Todoist works with Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can tell your phone, Alexa or whatever tech you use to add voice commands something and it can auto add it as a task
Tracking - You have the ability to track tasks, especially those that you delegate to other team members, this is known in the app as 'Assigned to' andit will give you updates if you wish on how the task is going, if it's been competed, if it's past its due date and so on
What does Todoist integrate with?
As with many project management tools, Todoist integrates with a number of different apps including Dropbox, Spark, Zendesk, Google, Jira, Pleexy and much more. Great news for those that want to use it inline with existing software they use.
The most popular integrations are Outlook, Chrome, IFTTT, Firefox, Alexa, Evernote, PipeDream, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zendesk, Zapier, Zoho Flow, Zendesk and Time Doctor.

There are a long list of project management software that you'll find available to your business and you'll likely have heard of the main companies, Todoist are one of them but you'll also find many people use the likes of Monday.com, Asana, ClickUp and Trello. Which is right for you is a matter of looking into each and working out which features you'll need and checking out the pricing to make sure it fits with your budget. There is no perfect, best choice when it comes to Project Management Software and what will be right for one company, won't be right for another.
Comparing Todoist vs Asana or any of the other softwares is something you should consider doing, but don't be afraid to try each out individually as you may find you prefer the interface of one over the other.
