Great news. We’ve teamed up with the Box team to give FounderPass members 4 months free when you sign up to their annual business plan.

So why Box?

As your business grows, stuff gets messy. Docs in email threads, pitch decks buried in someone’s personal Drive, onboarding files scattered across laptops... it works for about five minutes, then chaos takes over.

Box fixes that. It gives your business one secure home for every file and document, with powerful tools to collaborate, automate workflows, and manage access as you scale.

It’s used by startups through to global enterprises who want enterprise-grade security without the enterprise-level headaches. Think of Box as your content HQ: organised, secure, and built to grow with you.

How our members use Box in the real world

We asked our members who are currently using Box for their businesses how and why they use it, here's what they had to say:

Onboarding new hires fast

"When we hired our first SDR team, Box became our knowledge hub. We created a folder that holds scripts, training videos, and process docs, so onboarding takes half the time."
Jas, Founder, SaaS startup in Delaware

Working securely with clients and investors

"We share investor updates, financial models and due diligence docs in Box. Permission controls let us give temporary access so we never worry about files floating around."
Sara, Founder/Investor, Fintech space

Sales enablement at speed

"Our sales reps always know where to find the latest pitch deck and case studies. No more hunting through Slack or old emails."
Tom, Co-founder, B2B marketplace

Turning messy admin into simple workflows

Expense approvals, supplier onboarding, contracts, NDAs. Instead of chasing people around, you can set up automated file requests and review steps.

Our own take

Whilst we don't use Box all the time for our business, we have tested it out and found it do a great job at doing what it advertises. We could see many use cases for using Box for structured partner paperwork, investor docs, and internal onboarding templates. Folders are clean and version control removes the fear of someone updating the wrong doc. What we personally rated most is the confidence it gives when handling sensitive commercial agreements, something we do quite often. There is something reassuring about enterprise-level security without needing a full IT team.

Why we don't use it, currently our team is small and agile and we currently have a separate system to do this which is currently working, as we grow Box will be one of the companies and tools we'll consider adding to our tech stack but as it stands its a little overkill for our needs.

Key features founders love

• Centralised cloud storage for all team documents
• Granular sharing controls for internal and external access
• Real-time collaboration and comments
• Rich integrations with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom and more
• Automated workflows for approvals and file handling
• Security and compliance built in, suitable for regulated industries

If your startup deals with confidential files, investors, partners, or a remote team, Box fits right in.

Frequently asked questions

Is Box good for small teams?
Yes. Many teams start with just a handful of people and scale without switching. You can grow from seed stage to hundreds of employees on the same system.

How does it compare to Google Drive or Dropbox?
Drive and Dropbox are brilliant tools, but Box excels at security, content governance, and structured collaboration for teams handling sensitive documents and external partners.

Can I collaborate on documents inside Box?
Yes. Work in Google Docs or Microsoft Office files while storing everything securely in Box.

Do I need IT knowledge to manage it?
Not at all. Permissions, workspace setup, and user controls are straightforward. Most founders set it up in under an hour.

Who should use Box?
Startups with external investors, compliance needs, sensitive client docs, or fast-growing teams who want structure from day one.
